2014 Ancient Vines Zinfandel, Bedrock Vineyard, Sonoma Valley, Dashe Cellars
We harvested each varietal separately into half ton picking bins. At the winery, the grapes were hand-sorted on conveyors, and then fermented using the native "wild" yeasts on the grapes. At dryness, the wines were gently pressed in a membrane press and pumped to traditional 60-gallon oak barrels. Each varietal was kept separate, and we blended the wines carefully to develop a wine with great texture, intense fruit, and lovely balance between the firm acidity and the lovely sweet and spicy fruit.
The wine was aged for 10 months in one-year or older French oak barrels to maintain the vibrancy of the fruit. As the wine aged, it deepened in color and developed a complexity and firm structure that we believe will help the wine improve with up to ten years of bottle age. This is one of our most lovely and interesting wines made at Dashe Cellars, and we look forward to making wine from the vineyard for many years in the future.

2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Dry Creek Valley - Collier Falls Vineyards
The wine is deep, dark red in color with aromas of blackberry, cinnamon and clove. This elegant, balanced and spice driven Cabernet has a very approachable palate with distinct notes of red currant and vanilla. We recommend 20-30 minutes of decanting to fully showcase its soft flavors and lingering finish of red fruit.

2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Creek Valley Mietz Cellars
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark ruby in color and has varietal aromas of black fruit and herbs with integrated smoky oak aromas. It is also full bodied, forward and rich with medium and full tannins with a long finish. The wine was aged in 100% French oak barrels of which 60% were new and thin staved, and 40% 1-2 year old barrels. This wine shows a lot of promise for long term aging.

2014 Claret - Sonoma County - Mietz Cellars
The origin of Claret is a British term for a Bordeaux Blend. This claret is dark ruby in color. The aromas are cedar, vanilla, and blackberries and the warmth of toasty oak. The wine is full-bodied and round with up-front, sweet fruit flavors. The wine has a persistent finish.
1/3 Cabernet Sauvignon, 1/3 Cabernet Franc, 1/3 Petit Verdot .
This wine truly lives up to the name, claret. It is a medium bodied, lower alcohol wine with very complex elements in its aroma and taste. It is a true Bordeaux style wine.

2014 Comet, Todd Brothers Ranch, Alexander Valley - Dashe Cellars
The Comet is a blend of three wines: a 51 year old vine Zinfandel from Geyserville, a 130 year old vine Carignane, and a significant proportion 30% of the blend of an Alexander Valley Petite Sirah. Together, they make a rich, complex, full-bodied wine with a tremendous depth of flavor.
The Zinfandel and Petite Sirah come from the Todd Brothers Ranch, a steep, red-rock vineyard where the vines struggle to produce a small quantity of grapes, resulting in wines with great intensity and structure. The old vine Carignane is from the famous Bedrock Vineyard, a vineyard that was originally planted by Generals Sherman and Hooker before the Civil War. 2017 Carignane Old Vine, Evangelho Vineyard - Dashe Cellars
We are incredibly excited to release our first ever bottling of Carignane from the 125 year-old Evangelho Vineyard in Contra Costa County. Though Carignane is typically blended with our Zinfandel, Mike Dashe saw (and tasted) something special in these vines and decided to bottle it on its own. With flavors bursting of cassis, spice, and minerals, we are overjoyed to welcome the 2015 Carignane to the Wild Child family!

2015 Grenache - Russian River Valley - Philip Staley Vineyards & Winery
This succulent wine is a product of meticulous work in the vineyard where each year Philip Staley thins half the crop, assuring a low yield of 3.5 tons per acre. At the winery, he has tailored a special regimen for the Grenache, including a cold soak of whole clusters and whole berries prior to fermentation. This Grenache has broad, inviting aromas suggesting rose petals and black pepper. Red fruit cranberry and strawberry flavors are fresh and forward.

Iberian Blend is a blend of 4 classic Spanish varieties, Tempranillo, Carinena, Garnacha and Mataro.

Winemaker Notes: Iberian Blend is a blend of 4 classic Spanish varieties, Tempranillo, Carinena, Garnacha and Mataro. I patterned this wine after the regional country field blends I came to love as a student in Spain many decades ago.
Brilliant garnet color. The nose is full of ripe stone fruit with floral notes and a hint of spice. Flavors closely mimic the nose, ripe fruit, round and rich in the mouth, subtle French oak, with a long soft finish. A full bodied and complex wine, pair it with California and Meitrranean cusine.
2012 Merlot Russian River - Mietz Cellars
When we first opened the winery in 1989 we made merlot from the 11 acres right outside of our winery. That is all we grew and the only varietal we made for quite a few years. Merlot became the darling and we had great success in that market with a very good merlot. In the early 2000s, Merlot lost its darling status and was waning in the market place and then came THE MOVIE and merlot fell out of favor, even if it was a good merlot. We have not made merlot since 2002. We no longer have a merlot vineyard but were able to source merlot from vineyards right by the winery. We hope you enjoy it. Merlot is still a wonderful red wine that is enjoyable to drink.
This 2012 vintage was picked in small lots from two vineyards, in September, right before the early rains. Both vineyards are on Limerick Lane. This wine is very drinkable now but as it keeps maturing it will manifest the red cherry, cranberry element you taste now and will develop into full flower. The vintage was very cool with a long growing season that allowed the fruit elements to develop very slowly. The nature of this vintage allowed these flavors to be delivered with delicacy and balance. This merlot is full bodied and more European in style with moderate alcohol and refined tannin structure.

This elegant Petite Sirah displays a dark purple color with aromas of blueberry and plum. On the palate the wine shows complex layers of dark fruit with hints of white pepper spice. Soft tannins and a touch of toasty oak create a wonderful mouth feel and a silky finish.

Philip Staley has a beautiful, Petaluma Gap, Sonoma Coast Pinot from Hendricks Vineyards, extremely, limited production just 74 cases.
*A brilliant ruby color. *The nose is brimming with bright and forward Pinot Noir fruit. *In the mouth the wine is beautifully balanced with ripe varietal fruit and soft French oak. This is elegant in style and carries great richness through to a long finish. *This Pinot Noir drinks well now but will improve with a little time in the bottle.
2013 Primitivo, Dry Creek Valley - Collier Falls Vineyards
In the style of an Italian Amarone, this wine is not for the faint of heart! This big, rich wine begins with inviting aromas of dark black fruit and spice. Flavors of black cherry, plum and clove mingle on the palate giving the wine a complex, full-bodied structure. It finishes with a lovely balance of dark fruit flavors with hints of chocolate and oak.

Northern Piedmont-style wine. This wine's deep garnet color clings to the side of your glass, all the while filling your nose with the dense saucy fruit aromas of Bing cherries and raspberries. 50% new French oak was used iin the aging process so that no fruit character would be stripped from this fruit bomb of a red wine.. Italian cuisine, lamb or veal with rosemary infused flavors pair well with this wine. The acidity helps to cleanse the palate of lingering meat fats.

2013 Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley - Collier Falls Vineyards
The wine shows striking colors of deep crimson and black. A complex bouquet offers distinct aromas of butterscotch, jelly donut and damp forrest. This is a robust, full bodied Zinfandel displaying rich flavors of strawberry and fig, with hints of eucalyptus and powdered sugar. Its long finish highlights lingering notes of cola, tobacco, charred wood and black pepper. Pairs perfectly with duck breast and wild rice.
2013 Zinfandel - Florence Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley Dashe Cellars
The Florence vineyard in the north of Dry Creek Valley is one of our favorite single vineyard sites for Zinfandel in Sonoma county. Each year, it makes exceptionally vibrant and intense zinfandel, with characteristic aromatics of lavender, violets, and thyme or lavender spice.
We used our special custom made gridded tanks to ferment the wines. These tanks, outfitted with stainless-steel grids that can be raised or lowered on top of the crushed grapes, allow us to submerge the cap of grape skins beneath the surface of the fermenting wine. We extract color, body, and complexity from the grapes without extracting too much of the drying tannins found in the seeds. The result are intense and complex wines that feel velvety and round on the tongue rather than harsh or tannic.
We conducted the primary and secondary fermentation using only the natural populations of yeast and bacterias on the grapes, as always, to enhance the vineyard-specific flavors we get from these grapes. At dryness, the wine was gently pressed in a membrane press and pumped to older 60-gallon French oak barrels.
The wine was aged for 14 months in oak before being racked up to tank for bottling. This is an ideal wine to have with grilled lamb, intense sauces, or any other food that can stand up to its substantial fruit and acidity.
2015 Zinfandel, Old Vines, Todd Brothers Ranch, Alexander Valley - Dashe Cellars
This is a big, lush, and rich vintage of the Todd Brothers Ranch Zinfandel, which is no surprise given that 2015 was an exceptional harvest. These stellar 55 year-old head-trained vines in Geyserville consistently produce some of our best and most age-worthy Zinfandel bottling.
The perfect growing conditions, small berry size, and moderate yields resulted in a Zinfandel that is almost Cabernet Sauvignon-like in intensity and structure, but with the balance and sensuous texture of a Zinfandel.
We picked the grapes in early September and trucked them to the winery in half ton picking bins. After hand-sorting the fruit, we fermented the juice using the native yeast on the surface of the grapes. At dryness, the wine was gently pressed in a membrane press and pumped into 120- and 60-gallon French oak barrels.
During blending, we added a small amount of Petite Sirah for spice and depth of flavor.
The wine was aged for 14 months in one-year-old or older French oak barrels we prefer the flavor of the fruit to not be overpowered by too much oak flavor. This wine is 100% from the Todd Brothers Ranch, and 98% Zinfandel the remaining 2% was Petite Sirah grown on the vineyard. The brightness of the wine makes it go extremely well with a wide range of foods, especially grilled meats or substantial sauces. Try it with grilled lamb the herb de provence spice should pair beautifully. We feel this wine should easily improve with eight or more years of bottle age.
